Details of the trip

Day 1 | The Ascent: Cusco – Salkantay Pass – Colpapampa

Our journey begins with an early departure to Soraypampa. We immediately tackle the “Path of the 7 Snakes,” a zigzagging ascent leading to the Salkantay Pass (4,630m). After celebrating at the summit, we descend through changing ecosystems into the high jungle.

  • The Stay: Check into our Colpapampa Skydomes. Enjoy a chef-prepared dinner and spend the evening in our panoramic dining room or recovery in the wet area (Sauna/Jacuzzi).
  • Stats: 23.5km trekking | Max Altitude: 4,630m.

Day 2 | Into the Jungle: Colpapampa – Llaqtapata – Aguas Calientes

We transition from the highlands to the tropics. A short drive brings us to Lucmabamba, where we hike the original Inca steps to Llaqtapata. This is where you’ll get your first distant, breathtaking view of Machu Picchu across the canyon.

  • The Finish: Descend to Hidroeléctrica and follow the scenic train line to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy a celebratory dinner at a local restaurant and a comfortable hotel stay.
  • Stats: 20km trekking | Max Altitude: 2,813m.

Day 3 | The Citadel: Machu Picchu – Cusco

The final reward. We take an early bus to the Machu Picchu Citadel for a 2-hour guided tour exploring the temples, plazas, and terraces of the Incan empire.

  • The Return: Return to Aguas Calientes by bus before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

What Our Guests Say

Real experiences from travelers who slept under the Andean sky

The Dome Made the Trek Unforgettable

We did the full Salkantay Trek and stayed at the dome on night two. After a hard day of hiking, coming back to a real bed, hot shower and that view of the mountain? Nothing compares to that.

Best Night of My Life

I have camped across Patagonia and Nepal but nothing matched this. The dome is warm, beautifully designed and the silence at 4,600m is something else entirely. I woke up at 3am just to stare at the stars.
