Day 1: Cusco – Ocongate – Singrenacocha – Sky Dome Pacchanta
Today your adventure starts early. We pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 AM and travel in private transport towards Ocongate, in the southern Andes of Cusco, until we reach the small village of Pampacancha where the hike begins.
On the way you enjoy a delicious box breakfast prepared by our chef, with hot drinks and panoramic views of the Andes as we climb.
From the starting point, a moderate 4 km hike brings you to the viewpoint of the beautiful Singrenacocha Lake at 4,360 meters. Turquoise waters reflecting Ausangate at 6,384 meters, often with flamingos and Andean geese along the shore. Your guide shares the history and spiritual importance of this hidden lake and leads a small gratitude ceremony to thank the Apus for allowing us to arrive.
After your visit, you return to Pacchanta at 4,200 meters where your belongings and our cook are waiting with a delicious hot lunch.
Free afternoon to relax in the natural hot springs of Pacchanta, with views of Ausangate steaming around you.
The highlight is our Sky Domes. Rest peacefully in a real hotel bed with private bathroom, hot shower, heating and WiFi, under a thousand stars and directly facing Ausangate.
At night, dinner is served in our panoramic dining room. Your guide confirms the plan for tomorrow and you are ready to rest in your dome under the Andean sky.

Your guide wakes you with hot tea delivered to your dome. Breakfast in our dining room with sunrise over Ausangate, then start the day carrying only a small daypack.
From Pacchanta to the lakes viewpoint you hike almost 16 kilometers through pure natural beauty, among mountains, alpaca herds and local wildlife. The trail takes you through untouched and pristine areas around Ausangate that few visitors ever see.
Along the circuit you discover:
Pucacocha Lake, named for its reddish color from minerals.
Patacocha and Alqaqocha, high Andean lagoons surrounded by queñua forests and glacier walls.
Qomercocha and Orco Otorongo, the famous turquoise lakes, Otorongo with a shape similar to the wild jaguar of the Peruvian jungle, considered sacred by locals.
After seeing these wonderful water formations you return to Pacchanta for a refreshing lunch and time to pack.
Then private transport back to Cusco enjoying daytime views with sunshine across the southern valley. Arrival in Cusco between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, drop at your hotel.

What is Included for the 7 Lakes Trek?
Pick-up at your hotel the morning of your trek: Hotel pickup in Cusco at 5:00 AM Day 1 in private transport and return to your hotel Day 2 between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM.
Private transport from Cusco to the trailhead and back to Cusco: Private vehicle Cusco to Pampacancha Day 1 and Pacchanta to Cusco Day 2, with driver, fuel and parking included. Support vehicle carries your overnight duffel to Pacchanta.
English speaking, experienced and professional mountain guide: Local guide from Ausangate region, English-speaking, certified, with radio and first aid, both days.
Sky Dome Accommodation in Pacchanta 1 Night: Private Sky Dome at 4,200m with Queen bed, private bathroom with hot shower, heating, WiFi, panoramic view of Ausangate at 6,384m, hot water bottles and coca tea to dome.

Important Information
High Altitude on Foot
This is a high altitude trek, not a Sacred Valley walk. You hike to 4,360 meters at Singrenacocha Lake on Day 1 and up to 4,800 meters on the 7 Lakes Circuit on Day 2, and you sleep at 4,200 meters in Pacchanta Sky Dome. That is higher than Salkantay Pass. You should arrive in Cusco at least 24 to 48 hours before Day 1 to acclimatize. Day 2 is the hardest with 16 km at altitude. Tell your guide how you feel, drink at least 2.5 liters of water per day and go slow at 4,800m. Hiking poles help a lot on Day 2.
Luggage and What Our Vehicle Carries
You hike light. You only carry a small daypack on trail. Your big suitcase stays free and safe in our office in Cusco at Garcilaso 210. For this 2 day tour you need one small duffel or backpack for one night in Pacchanta, max 6kg. That duffel goes in our private vehicle and meets you at Pacchanta Sky Domes. No need for horses or porters on this tour, vehicle carries everything.
Cash
Almost everything is included: private transport, Sky Dome, meals, guide. You only need small cash in Peruvian soles for Pacchanta hot springs entrance 10 soles, water and snacks on the road, and tips for guide and cook if you want to tip. Shops in Pacchanta do not take cards. No ATMs after Ocongate. Get soles in Cusco.
Insurance
If you opt for insurance, check that your policy covers trekking up to 5,000 meters, medical treatment and emergency evacuation in the Ausangate region. Helicopter evacuation from Pacchanta is very expensive without cover. Ausangate is remote, phone signal limited after Ocongate.
Mandatory Documentation
Bring your original passport for Day 1. We may need it for community checkpoints around Pacchanta and Ausangate. A photo or copy is not always accepted. Also carry travel insurance card if you have one. No Machu Picchu ticket needed for this tour.
Packing Essentials
You need sun and freezing in one small bag. Hot sun at midday at Singrenacocha, freezing wind at 4,800m on 7 Lakes and cold night at Pacchanta dome at 4,200m.
Keep your overnight bag at 6kg max. Carry only essentials on trail.
Essential Documents:Original passport mandatory for community checkpoints. Keep in ziploc.
Protection:Sunscreen SPF 50, sunglasses with UV protection, sun hat for day and warm beanie for 4,800m pass.
Weather Gear:Waterproof jacket and pants always in daypack, warm down jacket, gloves and beanie for 7 Lakes. Weather changes fast above 4,000m in Ausangate, rain possible even in dry season.
Clothing for Hiking:Long trekking pants, 2 moisture wicking shirts, thermal top and leggings for night in dome, warm socks for 2 days. Bring extra layer for dome evening at 4,200m.
Footwear:Waterproof hiking shoes with ankle support mandatory, broken in. No sneakers, trail has rocks and mud around lakes. Sandals fine for dome after hike and for hot springs.
Hydration and Food:Reusable 1L to 1.5L water bottle. We provide boiled water at Pacchanta to refill. Box breakfast Day 1, hot lunch Day 1 and Day 2, dinner Day 1 in dining dome, breakfast Day 2. Snacks included.
Small Extras:Headlamp for dome at night, power bank cold drains battery fast, camera, small cash in soles, trekking poles available for rent, swimsuit and small towel for hot springs, flip flops for springs.
Pro Tip: Start Day 2 early with layers you can take off. Mornings at Pacchanta are freezing at 4,200m, midday sun at 7 Lakes at 4,800m is very strong with reflection from lakes. Dress in 3 layers, not one big jacket.
