A Serene Basecamp Under Apu Salkantay

Skydomecamps began with a mission to elevate the Andean trekking experience. By bringing the refined standards of our Andenes Del Inca hotel into the Peruvian backcountry, we created a unique glamping destination for those seeking a bucket-list getaway without compromising on comfort.

Located at the base of Apu Humantay, our Soraypampa site offers a privileged, 360-degree vantage point of both the Humantay and Salkantay peaks.

Luxury Panoramic Domes

Our custom-built glass domes are designed to merge the wilderness with modern innovation. Each unit serves as a private sanctuary immersed in a valley of grazing llamas and alpacas.

  • Accommodation: Four high-capacity domes (Max 10 guests) featuring Queen-sized beds for premium rest.
  • En-suite Facilities: Every dome includes a fully equipped private bathroom—a rarity in high-altitude trekking.
  • Connectivity & Comfort: High-speed Wi-Fi and 3-star hotel amenities provided in every room.
  • Panoramic Dining: A chef-led culinary experience in our glass-walled dining room, strategically positioned for sunset views over the snowcapped Vilcabamba Range.

Soraypampa FAQ

No questions match your search.

Location & Access

Our domes are strategically positioned at the base of Humantay Mountain. As the first major campsite on the Salkantay Trek, we offer the region’s most iconic panoramic views of both the Humantay and Salkantay glaciers.

Comfort & Climate

Due to the high altitude, temperatures at Soraypampa can drop below freezing. While our domes are engineered with thermal insulation and outfitted with high-quality warm bedding, we strongly recommend packing thermal layers to ensure your comfort.

Preparation

We recommend sturdy hiking boots, a refillable water bottle, and high-SPF sunscreen. For the evening, bring heavy layers (down jacket, fleece, and thermal base layers). Altitude sickness remedies are also highly recommended for this section of the trail.

Real experiences from travelers who slept under the Andean sky

The Dome Made the Trek Unforgettable

We did the full Salkantay Trek and stayed at the dome on night two. After a hard day of hiking, coming back to a real bed, hot shower and that view of the mountain? Nothing compares to that.

Best Night of My Life

I have camped across Patagonia and Nepal but nothing matched this. The dome is warm, beautifully designed and the silence at 4,600m is something else entirely. I woke up at 3am just to stare at the stars.
